You can learn more about sugaring on this page!
Sugaring removes body hair by quickly pulling the hair from the root. It is called sugaring because of the paste itself, which consists of lemon, water and sugar. The ingredients are heated in a warmer until it becomes a little firmer than a soft honey. It is applied to the skin with a gloved hand and is removed by a quick flick of the wrist.
Sugaring is a low temperature, natural hair removal. Sugaring causes less breakage & less ingrown hairs. Most clients see less hair & finer hair over time. And bonus, it’s 100% water soluble so no sticky residue!
The professional hair removal sugar paste that Jackie uses is manufactured in the USA (the Pacific Northwest).
It is Organic, non-GMO and cruelty-free.
What is sugaring?
When sugaring, the hair is pulled out in the same direction of hair growth. Waxing pulls the hair out in the opposite direction. When pulling the hair out in the opposite direction you risk breaking the hair instead of pulling it out from the root.
Sugaring can be applied over the same area, wax cannot. So if we miss a hair or there's a few stubborn ones, we can reapply the sugar to get the absolute best results!
Sugar is a lot like honey. If it gets too warm then it gets runny and I can't even pick it up. Therefore, it can never get hot enough to burn your skin (unlike wax).
Sugar is super easy to clean up! Sugar is water soluble. So if we happen to get it on anything it will clean off with just a warm damp rag and that goes for you skin! Wax can leave you feeling sticky and raw but after you leave your sugar appointment your skin will feel so clean and smooth!
Sugaring vs. Waxing
You know that bulb at the end of a hair? When you get that bulb/root/dermal papilla out of the follicle, it damages the follicle. When a follicle gets damaged it shrinks a bit. A smaller follicle means the hair become finer. Over time that damaged follicle will close up. And if the follicle closes then no hair can grow! So there could be area of skin that no longer grow hair if you are consistent. And even if the hair doesn't completely stop growing it will defiantly get thinner and finer!
The sugar paste can actually melt down into the follicle and wrap around the hair. In doing this we often can remove shorter hair than waxing can. *I don't recommend pushing the limited with shorter hair, longer hair will definitely give you the best results.
